Working philosophy
Cyneric Route is structured to work with Agents. Agents are elements that allow for configuration of a particular device and measurement of up to three SNMP inputs.
A device is an element with IP address to which inquiries will be made through SNMP protocol.
If necessary, taking more than three measurements from one device may result in a new agent appearing with the same IP address, while adding the necessary SNMP inputs.
For example, an agent may control a router’s traffic. In that case, you should assign the router’s IP address , select a graph type and set the SNMP inputs for that router.
The SNMP inputs may be:
Input 1 - TX bytes out Input 2 - RX bytes in Input 3 - CRC bytes
This way you will have the router’s traffic statistics, as well as the time frames when the link is saturated, the TX bandwith used and errors.
Each agent gets information from the device and stores it in the data base, specifying the day, the time, the SNMP input and the value recorded. This information will be available for any other application.
